As a nation, we’re consuming mass amounts of foods, and it is not always as healthy as it should be. Most of it is processed food that contains excessive amounts of fat, salt, and sugar along with ingredients we have never heard of, let alone can pronounce. What is as troubling is the dramatic increase in the variety of processed foods and beverages that are available to the everyday consumer.
Portion sizes have increased at alarming rates, and people are continuing to eat in a way that is affecting their bodies and health. The outcome: obesity, high blood pressure, Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease are plaguing Americans at rates never seen before in our country. This nation needs a real food education, and that is where our job begins!
